HOME OPENER: Rensselaer is finally home after opening its 2014 schedule in Massachusetts on August 30 and 31 ... Five of the Engineers' next six games will be played at East Campus Stadium, including two this week.

RPI FALLS IN OT TO BEGIN 2014: The Engineers got a 66th minute goal from senior captain Matt Koziol and held on to defeat Richard Stockton, 1-0, in their home opener on September 2 ... Senior Rob Dewald (3 saves) and sophomore Alex Kessler both saw time between the pipes, with Dewald taking the first 60 minutes ... RPI out-shot the Ospreys 13-10, while Stockton had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

THREE GAME WEEK: The Engineers play three games in four days this week ... RPI hosts Plattsburgh State on Thursday (7:30pm), before traveling to Castleton State on Saturday (1pm) ... RPI returns home the follow afternoon for a match-up with former Liberty League-foe Hamilton (1pm).

IN HOME OPENERS: The Engineers are 2-4 in their last six home openers, including a 2-1 win over Rochester last season.

EARLY LEADERS: Senior captain Taylor Korytko has the team's only goal through two games this season ... She has notched a team-high seven shot attempts, while classmate and fellow captain Dana Sailor is second with six ... Junior centerback Shelby Stromerson has logged an outfield player-best 195 minutes.

IN GOAL: Freshman Tori Riopelle (1-1) has started both games in goal for the Engineers and carries a 0.46 goals against average and a .917 save percentage ... She has seen 13 shots, including 12 on-goal.

RPI AT HOME: The Engineers are 16-9-1 at East Campus Stadium over the last three seasons, including a 6-2-0 mark last year ... RPI has had at least five home victories in four of the last five campaigns.

ENGINEERS IN 2013: Last season, Sara Rothschild led the team in scoring with seven goals for 14 points ... Taylor Korytko (5 goals, 1 assist) was second with 11 points, while Giana Abballe (4 goals, 1 assist) and Cori Winslow (3 goals, 3 assists) were tied for third with nine points apiece ... Alex Scholz made 12 apperances in goal, including nine starts ... She went 5-3-0, with a 1.18 goals against average and a .773 save percentage ... Steph Vargas (3-5-1) had a 0.94 goals against average and a .652 save percentage in 12 games (8 starts).

PLATTSBURGH'S STRONG START: The Cardinals have opened the season with a 3-1 record, including victories in their last three contests ... Plattsburgh fell to St. Lawrence, 1-0, in their opener, but have fought back to earn wins over Clarkson (3-0), SUNY Canton (10-0) and Elmira (1-0).

LEADING THE CARDINALS: Freshman Lindsey Bushey (4 goals, 1 assist) leads the team with nine points ... Classmate Brooke Knight (2 goals, 2 assists) has six points, while sophomore Vicky Scott (2 goals, 1 assist) has five ... In goal, senior Danielle Schmitt (3-1) has a 0.29 goals against average and a .938 save percentage as the starter in all four games thus far.

LAST MEETING: Plattsburgh won the last match-up between the two schools on September 5, 2009, by a score of 2-0 ... The Cardinals held a 21-2 edge in shots, while RPI goalkeeper Jaclyn Henry made six saves.

THE CAPTAINS: Seniors Taylor Korytko, Dana Sailor and Kerry White will lead the Engineers on the field for the 2014 season ... This is the second season wearing a captain's armband for Korytko.

BY POSITION: The Engineers roster consists of two goaltenders, nine defenders, five midfielders, 10 forwards and two players who play multiple positions.

BY CLASS: The team is made up of 10 freshmen, four sophomores, six juniors, seven seniors and a graduate student.

RENSSELAER'S COACHES: The Engineers are led by first-year head coach Greg Cathell ... He is a 2006 graduate of Maryland Eastern Shore ... Cathell is assisted by Rebecca Lee and Erika Van Zandt.

UPCOMING ACTION: Rensselaer is back in action on Saturday, when it travels to Castleton State (1pm) ... The Engineers return home the following day for a clash with Hamilton at East Campus Stadium (1pm).
