HOMESTAND CONTINUES: After a brief one-game trip to Castleton State on Saturday, the Engineers are back at East Campus Stadium for a non-league match-up with Hamilton College on Sunday (1pm).

RPI EDGED BY HAMILTON: Freshman Kate Whiston scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 87th minute to lead Hamilton to a 2-1 victory over Rensselaer at East Campus Stadium on Sunday ... Whiston launched a shot from 25 yards out that found its way into the top right corner of the net for the deciding tally ... Senior captain Taylor Kortyko struck first for the hosts in the 63rd minute, when she redirected a cross from freshman Dali Alarian just under the crossbar for her second of the season ... The visitors answered quickly, as Katie Kreider hit a low shot past Tori Riopelle to the tie the game in the 68th minute ... The equalizing goal was assisted by senior Halle Becker.

EARLY LEADERS: Senior captain Taylor Korytko has a team-best two goals for four points ... Sophomore Cori Winslow (1 goal) and freshman Hannah Bordogna (1 goal) have two points each ... Korytko has notched a team-high 16 shot attempts, including nine on goal ... Junior centerback Shelby Stromerson has logged a outfield player-best 465 minutes a starter in all five contests.

IN GOAL: Freshman Tori Riopelle (2-3) has started all five games in goal for the Engineers and carries a 0.97 goals against average and an .839 save percentage ... She has seen 51 shots, including 31 on-goal and has earned one shutout.

RPI AT HOME: The Engineers are 16-11-1 at East Campus Stadium over the last three seasons, including a 6-2-0 mark last year ... RPI has had at least five home victories in four of the last five campaigns.

ENGINEERS IN 2013: Last season, Sara Rothschild led the team in scoring with seven goals for 14 points ... Taylor Korytko (5 goals, 1 assist) was second with 11 points, while Giana Abballe (4 goals, 1 assist) and Cori Winslow (3 goals, 3 assists) were tied for third with nine points apiece ... Alex Scholz made 12 apperances in goal, including nine starts ... She went 5-3-0, with a 1.18 goals against average and a .773 save percentage ... Steph Vargas (3-5-1) had a 0.94 goals against average and a .652 save percentage in 12 games (8 starts).

ONEONTA FALLS TO SKIDMORE: Oneonta controlled the majority of first half action with domination in shots (five to one) and corners (seven to none) forcing starting Skidmore keeper Madison Plummer to be aggressive and come out of the net to challenge the ball ... The pressure paid off in the 32nd minute when Plummer was called for a foul in the box after she took down senior Sarah Glowa, who was breaking away from the defense, forcing a penalty kick ... Taylor Messina, stepped and finished from the spot for the hosts and they held the 1-0 advantage through halftime ... Early second half action brought a continuation of the possession battle; the two teams swapped fouls for the first third of the stanza before the Thoroughbreds knotted the game at one in the 72nd minute ... From there, the Red Dragons were not able to recover as Skidmore tacked on the game-winner in the 83rd minute.

LEADING THE RED DRAGONS: Junior Taylor Messina (2 goals) leads Oneonta with four points ... She is followed by senior captains Sarah Glowa (1 goal, 1 assist) and Krystal Scott (1 assist) with three and one points, respectively ... In goal, junior Rori Stark (1-2) has played in four games, including three as a starter ... She carries a 1.43 goals against average and a .737 save percentage.

LAST MEETING: Wednesday night's game will the first meeting between RPI and Oneonta since October 12, 1995 ... Renssealer came away with a 4-2 victory on that day, thanks to goals from now RPI Athletics Hall of Famers Jen Swiderek '97 and Ira Shetty '99.

DEFENSIVE LIBERTY LEAGUE: The Liberty League has allowed just 43 goals as a conference, through 4318:12 for a goals against average of just 0.90 ... Only two conferences have allowed fewer goals to this point in the season.

NATIONALLY RANKED: Two Liberty League schools are currently ranked in the national top 25, acording to the latest NSCAA coaches poll ... Union is 12th in the poll, while William Smith is 23rd.

THE CAPTAINS: Seniors Taylor Korytko, Dana Sailor and Kerry White will lead the Engineers on the field for the 2014 season ... This is the second season wearing a captain's armband for Korytko.

BY POSITION: The Engineers roster consists of two goaltenders, nine defenders, five midfielders, 10 forwards and two players who play multiple positions.

BY CLASS: The team is made up of 10 freshmen, four sophomores, six juniors, seven seniors and a graduate student.

RENSSELAER'S COACHES: The Engineers are led by first-year head coach Greg Cathell ... He is a 2006 graduate of Maryland Eastern Shore ... Cathell is assisted by Rebecca Lee and Erika Van Zandt.

UPCOMING ACTION: Rensselaer is back on the field on Saturday, when it hosts Cortland at East Campus Stadium (1pm).
