ENGINEERS SPLIT LEAGUE WEEKEND: RPI took one of two ECAC Hockey games last weekend, edging Princeton, 4-3, before falling to fifth-ranked Quinnipiac, 1-0 ... The Engineers scored the first two goals against the Tigers, including one just 24 seconds into the game, by senior captain

Katie Rooney then netted the first of her two goals on the evening to make it 2-0 ... Princeton came back with two straight by Hilary Lloyd, before Rooney gave the hosts the lead (3-2), before the first period ended ... Marisa Raspa bagged her fifth of the year 12:28 to put the hosts back on top for good ... Senior goaltender
Kelly O'Brien made 30 saves to pick up the victory ... The following afternoon, O'Brien kept the Engineers in the game making 33 saves, including 15 in the first period alone ... She wound up stopping the first 24 shots she faced, before Taylar Cianfarano broke through at 15:12 of the second period ... That goal stood as the game-winner for the Bobcats.

ALL-TIME VS. PROVIDENCE: The Engineers are 2-3 agains the Friars, dating back to their first even Division I meeting on October 22, 2010 ... RPI won the inaugural match-up 3-2 in overtime.
PACING THE FRIARS: Senior Beth Hanrahan leads Providence with 13 points on eight goals and five assists ... Classmate Haley Frade (4 goals, 7 assists) and sophomore Cassidy Carels (4 goals, 7 assists) have 11 points each, while second year blueliner Liv Halvorson (1 goal, 6 assists) has seven points ... In goal, junior Allie Morse (3-11-2) has started 16 of the team's 20 games, carrying a 3.19 goals against average and an .896 save percentage.
PROVIDENCE FALLS AT NO. 4 BU: Providence fell to No. 4 Boston University, 3-1, in Hockey East action at Walter Brown Arena on Monday night ... Brooke Boquist scored the lone goal for the Friars in the second period ... Providence had a chance to tie the game in the third period, while on the power play, but the Terriers capitalized on an empty net opportunity with four seconds remaining in the game ... BU jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead at the 2:37 mark in the first period ... Shannon Stoneburgh registered the goal after she received a rebound off of Kayla Tutino's shot ... Dakota Woodworth also was credited with an assist ... Boquist tied the game with a breakaway goal 4:25 into the second period ... Cassidy Carels forced a turnover and then fed Boquist with the puck, where she broke away from defenders ... BU pulled ahead (2-1) late in the period when Shannon Doyle netted a goal (18:49) with the helpers going to Rebecca Russo and Maddie Elia ... Allie Morse kept the game within reach in the third, saving four shots while PC was on the penalty kill 3:17 into the stanza ... BU was able to score on an empty netter to bring the game to its final of 3-1 ... For the game, Morse ended with a total of 31 saves.
RENSSELAER AT HOME: The Engineers are 3-5-1 at home this season after going 4-8-2 last season and 5-10-3 in 2012-13.

IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS: Three ECAC Hockey schools are ranked in the top 10 nationally, including fifth-ranked Quinnipiac, sixth-ranked Harvard and eighth-ranked Clarkson.
