TROY, N.Y. —
Nina Christof of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's ice hockey team has been selected to Team Germany for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina.
Christof and Germany will open Olympic play on Thursday, February 5 in the preliminary round against Sweden, marking the forward's first Olympic appearance after four seasons with the senior national program.
A fixture for Germany on the international stage, Christof has competed in four IIHF Women's World Championships and previously captained the German squad that won the 2020 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship, Division I – Group A. She later wore the "C" for Germany at the 2021 and 2022 senior IIHF Women's World Championships.
Serving as RPI's team captain for the 2025-26 season, Christof has scored four goals in 17 games, which is tied for third on the Engineers this winter. She has totaled 14 goals and 19 assists in her 94 career games in an Engineer uniform.
Christof is scheduled to join the national team for pre-Olympic preparations following the annual Mayor's Cup game versus Union at MVP Arena on January 24.
