Engineers take on Hobart at East Campus Stadium

REUNION & HOMECOMING WEEKEND: The seventh-ranked Engineers are home for a pair of games on Reunion & Homecoming Weekend, beginning on Friday against Hobart at 4pm ... RPI then welcomes RIT to East Campus Stadium on Saturday at 5pm.

UNBEATEN THROUGH NINE: Rensselaer has started the season 8-0-1 for the second time in school history, joining the squad from 2009 ... This year's team won its first eight games, setting a school record for most consecutive victories.

RPI DRAWS AT BABSON: Nathaniel Gunderson scored in the 31st minute, but the hosts had a second half answer, as the Engineers were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at Babson on Sunday ... Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Nealon made four saves, while allowing just his third goal of the year.

RENSSELAER LEADERS: Junior Devon Baughen (5 goals, 4 assists) leads the Engineers with 14 points ... He is followed by senior captain Matt Carberry (3 goals, 3 assist) with nine points ... Fellow skippers and seniors Paul Lentine (3 goals, 2 assists) and Nathaniel Gunderson (3 goals, 2 assists) have eight points apiece ... Junior center back Andrew Gondek is average a team-best 91.6 minutes per contest.

IN GOAL: Sophomore Ryan Nealon has started all nine games between the sticks and is 8-0-1 with a 0.33 goals against average and a .893 save percentage ... He has allowed just three goals – one on a penalty kick – and made 25 saves, including two penalty stops.

SCOUTING HOBART: The Statemens come into the weekend with a 6-1-1 overall record, having drawn at Union (0-0) to begin Liberty League play last Saturday ... Hobart defeated Ithaca, 3-0, in a mid-week, non-league game, behind two goals from Derrick Acheampong and one from TJ Kaszubski ... Acheampong, a freshman, leads the team with seven points on three goals and one assist ... Sophomore Zach Poretz (2 goals, 1 assist) is second with five points ...  In goal, senior Tyler Serafine is 6-1-1 with a 0.61 goals against average and an .808 save percentage.

OCTOBER 18, 2014: The Engineers and Statesmen played to 0-0 draw in last year's meeting in Geneva ... RPI out-shot Hobart, 14-9, including 4-2 on goal ... Matt Carberry had a game-high three attempts for the Engineers.

PERFORMERS OF THE WEEK: Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Nealon earned his second Liberty League Rookie of the Week award of the year posting a 1-0-1 record, with a 0.45 goals against average and a .917 save percentage ... Junior Devon Baughen (1 goal, 1 assist) was named to the Honor Roll.
