HAMILTON, N.Y. - Junior
Katie Rooney scored the final two goals of the game to earn the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team a 3-3 tie at Colgate University, in ECAC Hockey play on Saturday. With the draw, the Engineers move to 3-4-1 overall (1-0-1 ECAC Hockey), while the Raiders are now 4-1-3 (0-0-2 ECAC Hockey).
Colgate got out to a fast start, scoring 3:27 into the game. Bailey Larson notched her third of the season, with an assist going to Shannon Ormel. The Raiders doubled their lead at 13:11 of the frame, on a goal by Shelby Perry. Helpers on Perry's second of the year went to Meghan Brennan and Nicole Gass.

Shayna Tomlinson had the lone assist.
Later in the second, the Raiders pushed their lead back to two goals (3-1), when Shae Labbe scored an unnassisted marker.
In the third, RPI rallied for two goals to knot the score at 3-3. Rooney netted the first at 5:28 of the frame, before evening things at 17:28. Senior
Mari Mankey had her hand in both goals.
The Raiders finished with a 34-32 advantage in shots.
Lovisa Selander had 31 saves for RPI, while Julia Vandyk had 29 for Colgate.
RPI is back in action next weekend, when it hosts St. Lawrence and Clarkson at the Houston Field House. Colgate visits Quinnipiac and Princeton.Â
