RECORD UNBEATEN STREAK SNAPPED: After going a school-record 10 straight games (8-0-2) without a defeat, RPI was beaten by RIT last Saturday, 1-0, in overtime ... The schools previous long for more consecutive games without a loss came in 2009, when the squad opend with an 8-0-1 mark.

ENGINEERS DRAW WITH UNION: Rensselaer scored the first goal, but the Dutchmen came back with a second half tally to earn a share of the points on Wednesday night in Troy ... Senior center back Brett Pyser buried a left-footed shot from the top of the 18 off a Devon Baughen corner kick to give the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute ... Union answered with a 60th minute finish from sophomore Ethan Strauss ... His shot caromed in off the inside of the left post ... Sophomore Ryan Nealon made four saves for the Engineers.

NATIONALLY RANKED: The Engineers are eighth in the most recent NSCAA coaches poll and first in the East Region ... RPI is 16th in the D3soccer.com poll.

RENSSELAER LEADERS: Junior Devon Baughen (5 goals, 4 assists) leads the Engineers with 14 points ... He is followed by senior captain Matt Carberry (3 goals, 3 assist) with nine points ... Fellow skippers and seniors Paul Lentine (3 goals, 2 assists) and Nathaniel Gunderson (3 goals, 2 assists) have eight points apiece ... Junior center back Andrew Gondek is average a team-best 95.3 minutes per contest.

IN GOAL: Sophomore Ryan Nealon has started all 12 games between the sticks and is 8-1-3 with a 0.39 goals against average and an .891 save percentage ... He has allowed just five goals – two on penalty kicks – and made 41 saves, including two penalty stops.

FOR THE EPHS: Senior Mohammed Rashid (2 goals, 2 assists) and sophomore Mark Sisco-Tolomeo (3 goals) are tied for the team lead with six points apiece ... Freshman Gregory Andreou (1 goal, 1 assist) and junior Brandon Dory (1 goal, 1 assist) both have three points ... In goal, junior Christian Alcorn (3-4-1) has played every minute, carrying a 1.02 goals against average and an .830 save percentage.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2014: The Engineers earned a 1-1 draw at Williams in the their previous meeting ... Nathaniel Gunderson tallied in the 72nd minute, but the hosts came back just seven minutes later with the equalizer ... RPI keeper Rob Dewald came away with nine saves on the day.
