GAMEDAY: Rensselaer looks to get back to its winning ways when it hosts Utica College in a non-league game ... The Engineers are 3-1, while the Pioneers are 1-2.

STREAK SNAPPED: RPI saw its season-opening three-game winning streak ended at Hamilton on Wednesday night.

AGAINST THE CONTINENTALS: Hamilton jumped out to 2-0 lead with one goal in the first half and another early in the second before freshman Mikaela DiBello scored her first collegiate marker to cut RPI's deficit in half ... DiBello's original shot was stopped but she collected the rebound and scored from the right side ... The Engineers applied pressure throughout but could not knot the score ... Freshman Rachel Kaufman made six saves in defeat, while Hamilton's Julia Booth stopped four saves ... The Continentals held an 18-12 shot advantage while Rensselaer held a 7-5 edge in corners.

POINT-LESS: RPI sophomore Megan Jones was held off the scoresheet at Hamilton, snapping her streak of consecutive games with a point at three ... She had four goals and an assist in the first three games.

RECOGNIZED: Rensselaer's Megan Jones and Rachel Kaufman were chosen for weekly awards by the Liberty League ... Jones was the Offensive Performer of the Week while Kaufman was the Rookie of the Week ... Jones, who also garnered ECAC Mid-Atlantic Player of the Week honors, averaged 1.33 goals and 3.00 points in the first three contests ... She had four goals - including all three game-winning goals - one assist and 11 shots (8 on goal) ... Kaufman posted a 2-0 record with a 0.80 goals against average and a .900 save percentage ... She made 18 saves in 175 minutes.

FOUR STRAIGHT: After coming off the bench to play the second half of the season opener, freshman Rachel Kaufman has played each of the next three games in the cage for the Engineers.

AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS: Sophomore Megan Jones is first in the Liberty League in game-winning goals with three ... She is third in overall goals with four ... William Smith's Alessandra Patrizio and Hannah Wood are first and second with seven and five goals, respectively.

IN THE FIRST THREE: RPI opened the season with a 3-1 win over Hartwick ... Megan Jones scored twice in the game, which saw the Engineers hold a 34-15 edge in shots ... Four days later at No. 14 Mount Holyoke, Jones scored with 58 seconds left in the second half for a 2-1 win ... Jena Nawfel also scored and Rachel Kaufman was outstanding in stopping 12 shots and Taylor Clink made a defensive save ... Liz DiCesare had nine stops for the home team ... On Sunday, Jones and Angela Cascio scored in the first half and the Engineers held off SUNY Geneseo, 2-1 ... Rensselaer outshot the Knights 30-9 and had a 19-3 edge in penalty corners.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Utica began its season with a 5-0 loss at-ranked Kean University on September 1 ... The Pioneers then hosted the Utica College Tournament, finishing second after defeating Oneonta, 2-1, and losing to SUNY New Paltz, 4-1 ... Rebecca Kaufman and Brittany Evans scored in the victory, which was backstopped by Kells Casey's seven saves.

LAST SEASON VS. UTICA: In a game in late October, Utica extended the nation's longest active winning streak at the time to 13 games with a 3-0 win ... Senior Hannah Mackey, among the nation's leading scorers, netted two goals ... UC outshot RPI 25-8 and Samantha Whitehouse stopped four shots ... Hannah Clough made 12 saves in the loss.

HOME AGAIN: The Engineers next game at Harkness Field is next Saturday against Kean (1pm) ... RPI is also home the next afternoon when it hosts Keuka College at 1pm ...
