NON-CONFERENCE: The Engineers are nearing the end of their non-conference schedule with only two more games outside the Liberty League after Thursday night's meeting with Castleton. RPI is 3-3-2 through its first eight non-league matches.

RENSSELAER LEADERS: Sophomore Stephanie May leads the Engineers with five points on two goals and one assist ... Senior Meghan Carlo (1 goal, 2 assists) joins juniors Cori Winlsow (1 goal, 2 assists) and Ali Zumpetta (2 goals) with four points apiece ... Sophomore Dali Alarian (1 goal, 1 assist) has three points in just three matches.

IN GOAL: Sophomore Tori Riopelle has started all eight games between the sticks and is 3-3-2 with a 1.38 goals against average and a .745 save percentage ... She has made 35 stops in 784:12, with two shutouts.

SCOUTING CASTLETON: The Spartans are 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) ... They have won two games in a row, including an 8-0 victory over Lyndon State in ther NAC opener on Saturday ... Senior Mallory Costello paces the club with seven goals and one assist for 15 points ... Junior Nicole Wershoven (3 goals, 1 assist) is second with seven points, while classmate Eva Clark (2 goals, 2 assist) has six ... Junior goalkeeper Jessica Binkowski (3-4) has started all seven games for Castleton, carrying a 2.07 goals against average and a .708 save percentage.

SEPTEMBER 13, 2014: A 90th minute goal from Cori Winlsow set the Engineers home with a 2-1 victory over Castleton in last year's meeting ... Jenna Bostwick got the hosts on the board in the 10th minute off an assist from Mallory Costello, but the Engineers responded just before the half to knot it at 1-1 ... Hannah Bordogna provided the 44th minute tally ... Tori Riopelle made 10 saves to earn the victory in goal for RPI.

LIBERTY LEAGUE AT A GLANCE: The Engineers begin Liberty League play on Saturday, when they host Bard College at East Campus Stadium ... Every team in the conference has at least a .500 record or better, including nationally eighth-ranked William Smith, which is 4-1-1 ...
