FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Autumn Sorice scored in the 108th minute to lift the Western Connecticut State women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), in Farmingdale State Tournament action on Saturday. Western Connecticut broke onto the scoreboard in the 34th minute of play, when Rebecca Rivera converted a penalty kick. The Colonials took that one goal lead into halftime, along with a 5-3 edge in shots.

The Engineers came out strong in the second half and equalized in the 54th minute, on sophomore Steph May's first goal of the season. RPI continued to pressure throughout the end of regulation. Freshman Maddie Steinmetz came close to putting the Engineers ahead with a pair of long free kicks, but neither were able to find the net.
