GAMEDAY: The Engineers return from a nine-day break to host St. Lawrence in a Liberty League contest at East Campus Arena.

THE STANDINGS: The Engineers are 1-4 in conference play, currently in a tie for seventh place, while the Saints are 4-1 and sit in second place ... Rensselaer and St. Lawrence have both only played five games, while other schools have played seven or eight ... Union leads the league with a 6-1 mark ... The top four teams qualify for the league playoffs.

ROAD GAMES: Following the game with the Saints, Rensselaer travels for its next five games, including a game at Skidmore on Saturday (2pm). 

LAST TIME OUT: Vassar scored 21 points in the fourth quarter while holding RPI to nine and the Brewers defeated the Engineers 72-58 on January 12 ... Ariella Rosenthal had a game-high 23 points for Vassar, while the Engineers were led by Elizabeth Eckhardt's 19 points ... The game was close through the first three quarters, with Rensselaer leading by four points (18-14) after the first quarter and Vassar holding a two-point edge (31-29) at halftime ... The Brewers maintained their two point lead after three quarters as both teams scored 20 points in the frame ... Eckhardt made five three pointers in the game, collecting 19 points with three rebounds, two assists and four steals ... LaKissa Martin finished with 15 points and Shaina Iton had 10 points ... Lauren Young had six steals.

SLIDING: Rensselaer has lost three straight games and four of five ... One loss was by a point and another came in overtime.

ROSTER BREAKDOWN: RPI features six freshmen, five sophomores, one junior and three seniors.

ST. LAWRENCE TO DATE: St. Lawrence began the season with three wins including a victory in the Rose City Classic at Drew ... The Saints went on to post a 6-2 non-league record before winning five of their six conference contests ... SLU has won three consecutive games and six of its last seven.

LAST SEASON: On January 2 in the league opener for both RPI and St. Lawrence, Ashley Clough finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Rensselaer to a 63-59 win in Troy ... Leading 60-59, the Engineers iced the game in the final seconds from the free throw line, including one from Lauren Young ... Kara McDuffee posted 11 points and a game-high 18 rebounds for the visitors ... On January 17 in Canton, Caroline Dalton scored 17 points to lead St. Lawrence to a 65-45 victory ... Amanda Lynch paced RPI, finishing with a game-high 19 points, along with 11 rebounds ... Bailei Tetrault added eight points for the Engineers.
