GAMEDAY (Nov. 22, 2016): The Engineers (2-1) host area-rival Sage (2-1) in a non-league game.

RPI TO DATE: Rensselaer got off to a strong start with a 77-45 win over Southern Vermont last Tuesday before traveling to Maine Maritime for a tournament ... RPI lost to Colby in the first round (59-44) before defeating Maine, Presque Isle in the consolation game (88-46).

GAME 1: Elizabeth Eckhardt scored 22 points and senior Lauren Young added 15 - career-highs for both - as RPI defeated Southern Vermont, 77-45 ... Rensselaer made nine shots in the second quarter (9 of 23) and 10 in the third (10 of 24), while holding Southern Vermont to five (5 of 10) and one (1 of 12), respectively, for a 62-30 lead after three quarters ... The Engineers had 19 steals, including five from freshman Ines Ortea.

GAME 2: Colby outscored RPI 41-23 in the second half to take a 59-44 victory in the opening round of the Pepsi Mariner Classic ... Elizabeth Eckhardt led the Engineers with 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal ... Ines Ortea added eight points, one rebound and a steal.

GAME 3: Four players reached double figures for Rensselaer, which defeated Maine-Presque Isle, 88-46, in the Pepsi Mariner Classic ... The Engineers received 49 points from its bench, including a game and season-high 17 from freshman Ines Ortea, who went 6 for 6 from the field ... Sophomore Sam Krumbhaar added 14 points and four assists, while senior Lauren Young recorded 10 points and a team-high six rebounds ... Rensselaer never trailed in the contest and limited Maine-Presque Isle to 33.3% shooting ... RPI held a 30-2 advantage in points in the paint and turned the Owls' 27 turnovers into 25 points.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: Freshman guard Ines Ortea was selected to the All-Tournament Team of the Pepsi Mariner Classic ... She was Rensselaer's lone representative.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL: Sophomore Elizabeth Eckhardt was named to the Liberty League's Weekly Honor Roll after averaging a team-high 13.0 points and 3.3 rebounds with two assists, two steals and six turnovers in three games ... She shot .429 (15 of 35) from the floor and .750 (3 of 4) from the foul line as RPI went 2-1.

LAST SEASON: RPI pulled within one point three times in the final quarter, but Sage held off the Engineers, 56-53, in Albany ... Rensselaer had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation with a three-point shot from the left corner.
