NORFOLK, Va. - The Oswego State baseball team found its bats late in the contest, scoring all seven of their runs after the sixth inning in a 7-0 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. With the win, the Lakers improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Engineers drop to 1-4.
Wes Randall opened up the scoring for Oswego, as he batted a single to left field that scored both Collin Thompon and Robert Donnelly in the top of the seventh. Myles Kutscher earned the next RBI as he singled up the middle in the eighth. John Barnes, who was on second at the time, was able to score on an over throw, doubling up the Laker lead. Kutscher would be driven in later on in the inning on a Matt Capobianco single.

The very next batter was Eric Hamilton who singled into right, sending Randall home. With no one out, Jordan Giller grounded into a double play that allowed Hamilton to cross the plate.
Miles Kelly manned the mound for the first seven innings, pitching a five hit shutout that included seven strikeouts. He was then relieved by Cody LaFlamme who continued to hold RPI scoreless for the final two.
Yariel Jimenez had two hits for the Engineers, while
