Box Score CANTON, N.Y. - Hannah Miller connected on one of the Saints 24 shots in the second period to erase an early deficit and pull the St. Lawrence women's hockey team even with Rensselaer 1-1, which is how the game would end in Appleton Arena on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Saints – now 14-11-5 and 8-6-4 against ECAC Hockey opponents – outshot RPI 49-26 in the game, and did not allow double-digit shots to the visitors in any frame. First-year Grace Harrison made 25 saves for St. Lawrence while Lovisa Selander stopped 48 for the Engineers who are now 9-14-5 and 7-8-3 in conference.
 
RPI scored just 26 seconds into the opening frame when Shayna Tomlinson played the puck from beneath the red line to Laura Horwood out in front. Horwood took a quick shot from the hashmarks the snuck under Harrison's pads inside the near post to give the Engineers the 1-0 lead.
 
There were 11 combined penalties in Saturday's matchup, including five in the second period. In the middle of the second a pair of RPI penalties bookended a call on the Saints' Kirsten Padalis; all of which came in a span of 31 seconds to set up a 4-on-3 for St. Lawrence.
 
A minute and 20 seconds into the man advantage for the Saints, senior captain Amanda Boulier carried the puck into the slot and then dished it to Miller in the right circle. Miller unloaded a one-timer that bested Selander low insider the near post to tie the game at 1-1. Brooke Webster also assisted on the goal for St. Lawrence; her third assist of the weekend.
 
RPI killed a penalty early the third and the Saints killed a pair late in the frame to force the game to overtime.

With the tie, the Saints remain in sixth place in the conference standings with 20 points, while the Engineers sit in eighth with 17.
