SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Skidmore scored the game's final four goals to pull away for an 11-7 Liberty League women's lacrosse win over Rensselaer Friday night at Wachenheim Field. The win moves the Thoroughbreds (6-6, 3-2) into a tie with St. Lawrence for fourth place in the Liberty League with four games to play. The Engineers (6-5, 2-3) are one game back.
 
Tyler Phillips scored four goals and had an assist, to go along with three caused turnovers and four draw controls. Cas Szwajkowski and Natalie LaBeau scored two goals each. Emma Harris, Marisa Caponi, and Adele Mackey had single goals.  Rachel Talanian had a game-high six draws to go along with three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
 
Morgan Doyle and Sophie Hager paced RPI with two goals each. Maddy Aslansan, Mackenzie O'Neil, and Erin DeLucca added solo tallies.
 
RPI got on the board first when Doyle potted her ninth of the season at 26:56.
 
The teams traded goals until Skidmore got consecutive goals from Caponi at 18:08 and Phillips at 15:36 to take the team's first lead of the game, 4-3. 

Hager tied it with her 17th of the season at 14:08, but LaBeau (13:30) and Phillips (8:24) put the Thoroughbreds back in front 6-4. Doyle scored off a rebound with 12 seconds left to get the Engineers to within one at the half, 6-5.
 
Aslansan tied it 6-6 at 29:09 of the second with her 11th goal of the season. Skidmore went back in front 7-6 when Mackey caused an RPI turnover that led to a Szwajkowski goal at 25:56.

The Engineers battled back again to tie it 7-7 at 23:52 when Erin Goodwin found Hager in front for her 18th of the season.  That would be it for the RPI offense.
 
Skidmore controlled the tempo the rest of the way, limiting the Engineer chances, while scoring the game's final four goals.
 
LeBeau made it 8-7 at 22:46. Talanian forced a turnover that eventually led to the 36th goal of the season for Phillips at 18:27. Szwajkowski upped the lead to 10-7 with her 30th of the season at 16:21. 
 
Skidmore goalie Megan Kolopsky made a huge save on a Doyle free position at 13:27 to preserve the lead.   Mackey got the final Thoroughbred goal when she laid out in front, while getting the ball through the crease and past Wilen for the 11-7 final.
 
Skidmore out shot RPI 26-13 and had a huge 16-4 advantage in draw controls.
 
Kolopsky had five saves, while Wilen had eight.
 
The Thoroughbreds host St. Lawrence on April 22 (4pm). RPI is home the same day and time against Clarkson.
