GAMEDAY (Jan. 21, 2017): The Engineers (6-11; 1-7 Liberty League) close out its three-game homestand with a Liberty League contest against Union (7-7; 3-3).
BOUNCE BACK: Rensselaer attempts to get back into the win column after falling to Skidmore, 60-55 on Friday night ... Union hosted Bard and defeated the Raptors, 69-24.
FRIDAY'S ACTION: Kelly Donnelly scored 29 points with nine rebounds to lead Skidmore to a 60-55 victory over RPI ... The junior guard scored five points in the final 1:23 to help the Thoroughbreds end RPI's comeback attempt ... After trailing by six points after the first quarter (16-10) and 12 at halftime (36-24), RPI cane back in the third when it outscored the Thoroughbreds, 16-5, to pull to within a point, 41-40, after three ... The score remained within two points until Skidmore pushed it to 51-47 with 2:51 to play and the visitors held on from there.
LEADING SCORERS:
Shaina Iton registered a double-double for RPI, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high 19 rebounds, along with six blocked shots, against Skidmore ...
LaKissa Martin finished with 16 points, while
Kate Goodell had eight points and 11 rebounds ...

LAST WEEKEND: RPI dropped a 72-58 decision at William Smith last Friday before bouncing back to defeat RIT, 66-64, on Saturday.

Shaina Iton was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week after averaging 18.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocked shots in 37.5 minutes last week ... She also had two assists while shooting 55.6% (15 of 27) from the floor and 70% (7 of 10) from the line.Â
