GAMEDAY (Jan. 21, 2017): The Engineers (6-11; 1-7 Liberty League) close out its three-game homestand with a Liberty League contest against Union (7-7; 3-3).

BOUNCE BACK: Rensselaer attempts to get back into the win column after falling to Skidmore, 60-55 on Friday night ... Union hosted Bard and defeated the Raptors, 69-24.

FRIDAY'S ACTION: Kelly Donnelly scored 29 points with nine rebounds to lead Skidmore to a 60-55 victory over RPI ... The junior guard scored five points in the final 1:23 to help the Thoroughbreds end RPI's comeback attempt ... After trailing by six points after the first quarter (16-10) and 12 at halftime (36-24), RPI cane back in the third when it outscored the Thoroughbreds, 16-5, to pull to within a point, 41-40, after three ... The score remained within two points until Skidmore pushed it to 51-47 with 2:51 to play and the visitors held on from there.

LEADING SCORERS: Shaina Iton registered a double-double for RPI, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high 19 rebounds, along with six blocked shots, against Skidmore ... LaKissa Martin finished with 16 points, while Kate Goodell had eight points and 11 rebounds ... Sam Krumbhaar scored 12 points, including 10 from the free throw line.

SHORT BENCH: Rensselaer played Friday's game without senior Lauren Young, sophomore Sam O'Keefe and freshman Ines Ortea ... The three guards all missed due to either injury or illness.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Vassar outscored RPI by 10 points in the fourth quarter and the Brewers defeated the Engineers by seven, 71-64 ... Ariella Rosenthal had 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead Vassar ... The Engineers, who held a 22-10 lead after the first quarter, got 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots from Shaina Iton ... Elizabeth Eckhardt had a team-high 18 points.

LAST WEEKEND: RPI dropped a 72-58 decision at William Smith last Friday before bouncing back to defeat RIT, 66-64, on Saturday.

HONORED: Junior Shaina Iton was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week after averaging 18.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocked shots in 37.5 minutes last week ... She also had two assists while shooting 55.6% (15 of 27) from the floor and 70% (7 of 10) from the line. 

ALL-TIME AGAINST UNION: RPI is 51-26 in the series with the Dutchwomen, which dates back to 1976 ... The teams have split the last 12 games.

UNION ON FRIDAY: Twelve players scored in a balanced attack as the Dutchwomen defeated Bard, 69-24, in Schenectady.
