TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) swimming & diving teams combined to win 26 events as the Engineers swept Vassar College. The women won 185-70 and the men were victorious, 184-92. The Engineers are now a combined 8-1 with the women staying perfect at 5-0 and the men now 3-1.

Among Rensselaer's victories were wins in all four relays and all four diving events. In the women's 200 medley, which opened the day's events, Emily Mayoras, Danielle Sauve, Michaela Yamashita and Jessica Sauve finished in 1:51.47 to win by nearly three seconds. The men's team of Noah Pan, Cory Madalena, Timothy Ho and John Alberta followed with a two-second victory. They finished in 1:38.54, while the runner-up, a team from Vassar, touched in 1:40.44.

In the meet-ending 400 free relay, RPI's Graham Zola, Pan, Ho and Alberta were first to the wall, swimming in 3:14.90, which was nearly 17 seconds in front of the second place team (3:31.32). The women's team of Kaitlin Joyce, Yamashita, Mariam Tharwat and Erin Kane had a 12 second win (3:45.83 - 3:57.35) in their event.

In diving, RPI had three different winners with sophomore Jessica Kugelman earning victory from both boards. She accumulated 266.40 points from three meters and 261.80 from one meter. Jesse Rotering won the men's three meter with 276.55 and Alex Chused captured the one meter victory with 268.90 points. 

Rensselaer returns to the pool on Sunday with meets at Hartwick College. The men's and women's divers begin at 10am and the swimmers compete at 1pm.
