TROY, N.Y. – Senior captain 
Breanainn McNeally recorded a game-high nine points in leading the 20th-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's lacrosse team to a 15-5 victory over Bard College on Saturday afternoon at East Campus Stadium. With the win, the Engineers improve to 4-2 overall (1-1 Liberty League), while the Raptors drop to 3-3 (0-1 Liberty League).
McNeally (Severna, Park, MD/Archbishop Spaulding) scored four goals and added five assists to pull even with Adam LoGiudice '07 for third in school history with 205 career points. He had a hand in four of the team's first six goals, scoring three times.
The Engineers led 6-0 after one quarter and 7-0 after McNeally netted his third goal of the game with 11:17 left in the second.
Senior George Goceljak (Flemington, NJ/Immaculata) ended the run, halfway through the second stanza, netting his fifth of the year. Junior John Palermo (West Hartford, CT/Conard) cut the deficit to 7-2 with just 47 seconds left in the second.
RPI put the game away in the opening stages of the third quarter, as senior 
Chaz Bell (Hopewell, NJ/Hopewell Valley) and sophomore 
CJ Kigar (Deleware, OH/Olentangy) combined to score three times in the opening 3:21.
After Bard drew one goal back (10-3), Kigar netted his third straight goal for the hosts, before freshman 
Owen Putman (Round Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) and McNeally tacked on two more for a 13-3 lead.
The two teams then traded a pair of goals down the stretch, including a man-up tally from RPI senior 
Jake Weidner (Chula Vista, CA/Otay Ranch) with 44 seconds remaining in the game.
Bard was led offensively by junior Emmet O'Connell (Manhasset, NY/Chaminade), who had a goal and an assist for two points. Senior Troy Ludtka (Orchar Park, NY/Nichols School) made 10 saves for the Raptors, while RPI senior 
David Gibbs (Stoney Brook, NY/Ward Melville) had one save in the opening 15 minutes, before giving way to junior 
Parker Smith (Cordova, TN/IMG Academy), who had one stop over 41:34.
The Engineers are back in action on Wednesday, when they host Plattsburgh State at 4pm. Bard visits SUNY Poly on Wednesday (7pm).
