GAMEDAY: Rensselaer returns to Harkness Field with a non-league game against Endicott.

SECOND MEETING: RPI and Endicott have met only once, on September 2, 2006, as part of the Zenaty Invitational hosted by Springfield College ... The Engineers won 3-2 behind two goals from Lisa Pak and one from Michelle Clemente.

BUSY STRETCH: Saturday's game is Rensselaer's fourth in the last eight days.

GAME 1 (Sept. 1):  Hartwick scored three times after RPI's Taylor Clink scored on a penalty stroke and the Hawks held off the Engineers, 3-2, despite a late goal by Megan Jones and 16 penalty corners for Rensselaer.

GAME 2 (Sept. 3): Mount Holyoke scored just 2:23 into the game and goalie Morgan Turner made it stand up with three saves in a 2-0 Lyons victory ... Rachel Kaufman stopped eight shots for Rensselaer, which had six corners.

GAME 3 (Sept. 6): No. 15 Hamilton got a hat trick from Michaela Giuttari and the Continentals went on to a 7-2 win ... Taylor Clink and Mekayla Wakeman scored for Rensselaer ... Rachel Kaufman (6 saves) and Kayla Bell (7) combined for 13 saves.

TOUGH SCHEDULE: Hamilton is one of six Rensselaer opponents to have been listed in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Preseason Coaches Poll ... The others are Middlebury (4th), Skidmore (11th), Montclair State (12th), Rochester (14th) and William Smith (20th) ... The first in-season poll is scheduled for a September 12 release.

HOME GAMES: The Engineers have 17 regular season games this season with seven at Harkness Field ... RPI was 6-3 in home games a season ago.

UPCOMING: RPI is back home on Wednesday when it hosts Utica in a non-league game (7pm).

ROAD WARRIORS: The Engineers play five straight road games from September 17 to October 3.

NFHCA ALL-ACADEMIC: Thirteen members of the 2016 RPI field hockey team were selected to the NFHCA National Academic Squad ... Kate Batzinger, Kayla Bell, Claire Cecilio, Nicole Clancy, Casey Collette, Mikaela DiBello, Jena Dolinar, Jane Edgington, Christina Hanos, Lauren Hiltz, Megan Jones, Colleen Morris - a four-year honoree - and Mac Reininger ... DiBello, Hanos and Hiltz were named to the Scholars of Distinction list. 

IN 2016: Rensselaer won four of its final five games, including each of its last three, to finished with a 10-7 overall record ... The late season wins came against Union (2-1 OT), Vassar (1-0), New Paltz (4-2) and Oneonta (2-1) ... The lone loss was to Middlebury (2-0).

LEADING THE WAY: Rensselaer is coached by Bridget LaNoir '99, now in her 17th season ... A member of the RPI Athletics Hall of Fame for field hockey and ice hockey, she became the program's all-time winningest coach in 2009, passing Beth Hallenbeck on October 20 (2-0 vs. Utica).

TEAM LEADERS: Serving as RPI's captains this season are Kate Batzinger, Taylor Clink and Jane Edgington ... Batzinger and Edgington are seniors, while Clink is a junior ... A midfielder, Batzinger has played 49 games in her first three seasons, scoring four goals with an assist for nine points, along with 15 shots (7 on goal) and a defensive save ... Clink, a back, has started each of the first 31 games she has played in her first two seasons ... As a sophomore, she had five goals and three assists for 13 points with 28 shots - third on the team in each category - on her way to earning All-Liberty League Second Team and NFHCA All-North Atlantic Region Second Team ... An attack, Edgington had three goals and two assists with 19 shots (14 on goal) in 17 games last year ... She has four goals and four assists with 31 shots (23 on goal) in 37 career contests.
