GAMEDAY: For the final time in 2018, Rensselaer plays at Harkness Field with Castleton serving as the opposition in a non-league contest.

RPI TO DATE: The Engineers are 4-11 overall and 3-4 in the Liberty League ... They have a 3-6 home record, including two straight wins and victories in three of their last four in Troy.

CASTLETON TO DATE: The Spartans are 12-3 overall and 10-1 in Little East Conference play ... Castleton had an 11-game winning streak snapped in its last outing, 3-1 to Southern Maine ... It is a perfect 6-0 in road games.

COMMON OPPONENTS: Rensselaer and Castleton have both played Union and Middlebury ... The Engineers were defeated by both, 4-3 in overtime and 4-0, while the Spartans lost 5-3 and 10-0.

ALL-TIME SERIES: RPI has played Castleton 13 times, earning a 9-4 record ... The Engineers have won four of seven in Troy, including each of the last three meetings in the Capital Region.

LAST SEASON: The Spartans snapped a five-game losing streak to Rensselaer last season with a 4-3 win ... Leah Holland made 24 saves and Emily Lowell scored three goals to propel Castleton on September 20 at Spartan Stadium ... Gabriella Hunt notched one goal in the win ... Megan Jones had two tallies for the Engineers, who got one from Mikaela DiBello and six saves from two different keepers.

UPCOMING: Rensselaer concludes the regular season with a non-league game at Oneonta on Saturday ... Those two teams also finished the 2017 campaign with RPI winning on penalty strokes. 

SEASON EXTENDED: RPI finished fourth in the Liberty League standings to earn a post-season berth ... The Engineers travel to top-seeded Vassar on October 31 for a 6pm semifinal contest.

LIBERTY LEAGUE FINAL: The championship game of the conference tournament is scheduled for Saturday, November 3, at the highest remaining seed ... Rochester is the second seed and Skidmore is the third seed.

TWO CHOSEN: Rensselaer's Taylor Clink and Mikaela DiBello have been chosen to participate in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game, which features top players in the nation ... The game is November 17 at 5pm in Manheim, Pa., in conjunction with the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship ... Clink is a fourth-year starter and second-year captain who has two assists and a team-high six defensive saves ... DiBello, who has also started each of her four seasons, leads the team with nine goals and 18 points.

RPI LAST TIME OUT: Nancy Bansbach scored two first half goals and No. 6 Rochester held steady on the tempo in a 2-0 victory over Rensselaer on Sunday ... RPI's Rachel Kaufman made 13 saves and defender Taylor Clink had two defensive saves ... Rochester goalie Kate Kujawa made two saves.
