Five minutes later, Wisnom found Kaplan streaking up the right flank. She took a shot with her right this time, flashing it across the face of goal and wide to the left.
Richard collected a partial clearance in the 87th minute and fired high over the bar. Then, in the dying seconds of regulation, the Engineers earned a pair of corners, but were unable to keep the match from going to overtime.
In the extra session, Rensselaer held a 7-4 shot advantage, including 4-2 in the final 10 minutes of play. St. Lawrence's best chance to score came in the 97th minute, when Mulhern had her shot blocked from six yards out.
