Women's Soccer Battles Rival Union Saturday at ECAV (1pm)

Engineers host Dutchwomen in critical Liberty League match

RIVALRY SATURDAY
The Engineers host area-rival Union College for a Saturday afternoon Liberty League match, with kick-off scheduled for 1pm.

SERIES HISTORY
Union leads the all-time series by a 28-5-1 margin, including a 13-1-1 mark over the last 15 meetings. 

RECENTLY
For the first time in the 34-game history of the rivalry, RPI has produced a two-game unbeaten streak (1-0-1), which it takes into this weekend's game.

LAST TIME VS. UNION
The Engineers got a 32nd minute equalizer from Emily Dunn to earn a 1-1 draw in Schenectady on October 7, 2017. RPI outshot the Dutchwomen, 23-8 in the match, including 9-3 on goal. Joey Lyons had two saves for the Engineers.

ENGINEERS DRAW AT SLU
Despite outshooting the Saints, 27-14, Rensselaer was forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at St. Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon. Joey Lyons stopped the only shot on goal she faced, while Whitney Wisnom (6 shots) and Jacqui Richard (5 shots) paced RPI offensively.

RPI LEADERS
Junior Jacqui Richard has a team-high two goals for four points. Freshman Whitney Wisnom (1 goal, 1 assist) and junior Emily Dunn (1 goal, 1 assist) have three points apiece, while four others have two points.

GOALKEEPING
Sophomore Joey Lyons (4-5-1) has a 0.97 goals against average and a .762 save percentage have played every minute between the sticks for the Engineers.

Union (4-4-1) is led offensively by Paige Sherling (3 goals) with six points. Emma Schleimer (1 goal, 3 assists) and Erin O'Shea (2 goals, 1 assist) have five points apiece, while Bella Dworkin (1 goal, 2 assists) and Amanda Ashmen (2 goals) have four.
