Engineers finish regular season road schedule this weekend

LAST ROAD TRIP
The Engineers embark on their final road trip of the 2017-18 regular season this weekend, when they visit Princeton and Quinnipiac on Friday (7pm) and Saturday (7pm), respectively ... RPI is home to Colgate and No. 3 Cornell next weekend for their regular season finale.

DARTMOUTH WINS AT THE HFH
Will Graber netted a natural hat trick and added a pair of assists, while Shane Sellar had two goals and four assists in a 7-3 Big Green win in Troy on Friday night ... Freshman Jaren Burke scored his first collegiate goal for the Engineers, while sophomores Jacob Hayhurst Patrick Polino also tallied for the Engineers ... Dartmouth scored four straight goals in the first and second periods after Burke fired the opening salvo ... Senior netminder Devin Buffalo finished with 20 saves, while RPI freshman Linden Marshall had 31.

RPI LEADERS
Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst leads the Engineers with 19 points on nine goals and 10 assists through 30 games ... Junior Evan Tironese (6 goals, 9 assists) and senior Mike Prapavessis (15 assists) have 15 points apiece, while sophomore Will Reilly (7 goals, 6 assists) has 13 ... Senior Jared Wilson has a team-high four power play tallies, while Liljegren leads the club with three game-winners. 

ENGINEERS GOALTENDING
Freshman netminder Linden Marshall is 4-14-2 with a 3.14 goals against average and a .906 save percentage in 22 games (21 starts) ... Junior Chase Perry has started nine games for the Engineers this season, going 1-7-2 with a 3.55 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.

DOUBLE DIGITS
The Engineers have 11 players with double-digit point totals, including freshmen Billy Jerry (7 goals, 4 assists) and Emil Ohrvall (1 goal, 9 assists) ... Nine players have multiple goals, led by senior Viktor Liljegren and sophomore Jacob Hayhurst, with nine apiece.

ALL-TIME VS. PRINCETON
Rensselaer is 68-35-11 all-time against Princeton, having won the inaugural meeting, 8-4 in Troy on January 18, 1952 ... The Engineers won 14 of the first 16 meetings in the series and own a pair of double-digit winning streaks throughout.

RECENTLY
The Engineers are 5-4-2 over the last 11 games in the series, including a split last year, with each team winning at home ... RPI was unbeaten (4-0-1) in its last five at home against the Tigers until Princeton's 6-2 victory on November 11.

PRINCETON PULLS AWAY
The Engineers dropped their most recent contest, 6-2, to Princeton on November 11 ... After the Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, RPI senior Jared Wilson and freshman Billy Jerry knotted the score with back-to-back tallies ... Jackson Cressey then gave the visitors a 3-2 before the end of the first period ... Princeton added a fourth goal in the second, before tacking on two more in the third.

LAST SEASON VS. THE TIGERS
Princeton came back to win an overtime game in December, 6-5, before the Engineers exacted revenge, 4-3, at the Houston Field House in February ... Eight players notched multiple points against Princeton last year, including Patrick Polino (1 goal, 2 assists), Evan Tironese (1 goal, 2 assists), Jared Wilson (1 goal, 2 assists) and Will Reilly (3 assists) ... Jacob Hayhurst chipped in with two goals, while Chase Perry was 1-0-0 with a 3.00 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

ALL-TIME VS. QUINNIPIAC
The Bobcats own a 14-7-9 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to October 16, 1999 – a 6-4 Engineers victory in Albany ... RPI won the first four meetings, before Quinnipiac went unbeaten over the next nine (5-0-4).

RECENTLY
The Engineers snapped a 14-game winless streak (0-9-5) on November 10, which dated back to February 4, 2011 – a 3-3 tie in Hamden, Conn. Before its 5-3 win this year, RPI's last victory over the Bobcats came on February 19, 2010 – a 5-3 win at the Houston Field House.

RPI COMES BACK AGAINST QU
Trailing 3-1 after one period of play, the Engineers rallied for a 5-3 victory over then-No. 16 Quinnipiac, last Friday night at the Houston Field House ... Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst pulled the hosts to within 3-2, before senior Viktor Liljegren tied it at 3-3 ... Liljegren went on to score the eventual game-winning tally with 1:32 left in the third, before adding an empty-netter for a natural hat trick ... Junior Chase Perry finished with 36 saves for RPI.

2016-17 VS. QU
Quinnipiac won 4-1 and 7-3 last season to sweep the season series ... Will Reilly (1 goal, 1 assist) and Mike Prapavessis (2 assists) had the most success offensively for the Engineers, while Chase Perry went 0-1-0 with a 6.07 goals against average and an .833 save percentage against the Bobcats.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BEAT #1?
After its 2-1 win over Cornell on February 3, RPI is now 2-3-1 over its last six games against the USCHO.com nationally first ranked team in the country, dating back to January of 2014 ... The Engineers went 0-1-1 against Quinnipiac when the Bobcats were No. 1 in 2015-16 and fell at North Dakota, 5-2, on October 10, 2016 ... RPI's last victory over a top-ranked team came on October 11, 2015 – a 2-1 win over Boston College at the Houston Field House ... The Engineers last defeated first-ranked ECAC Hockey opponent in the 34th Big Red Freakout! when they dropped Yale, 5-2.

FRESHMEN LEADERS
RPI freshman Billy Jerry ranks fifth among ECAC Hockey rookies with seven goals ... Classmate Emil Ohrvall is seventh in assists with nine ... Jerry is tied for 16th with 11 points.

VIKTOR FACTOR
RPI is 5-2-1 this year when Viktor Liljegren records at least one point ... The team went 2-12-0 when picked one up last year and 7-2-3 during his sophomore season ... The Engineers were 7-2-2 when Liljegren found the scoresheet as freshman in 2014-15

TWO IN TWO
Sophomore Jacob Hayhurst has two goals in his last two games ... He looks to match his season-high three-game goal scoring streak on Friday night at Princeton ... He tallied in three straight games in October against Niagara, RIT and Union.

Rensselaer graduate Milos Bubela '16 is currently playing for the Slovakian men's hockey team at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games ... He helped his home nation to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Olympic Athletes from Russia on Tuesday, playing 13:56 and registering one shot and an even rating ... Slovakia takes on the United States at 10:10 ET on Thursday night.
