EWING, N.J. - Four student-athletes were 2-0 to lead the No. 27 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis to an 8-1 win over The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Sunday afternoon. The Engineers, who had a four-match winning streak snapped on Saturday, improve to 8-2. The Lions are now 3-1.
Rensselaer's doubles teams of
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and
Andrew Imrie (No. 1) and
McKinley Grimes and
Zack Ebenfeld (No. 2) both won with the former earning an 8-4 victory and the latter an 8-7 (9-7) triumph. That quartet went on to victory in each of their singles matches with Castillo-Sanchez (6-1, 6-2) and Grimes (6-2, 6-2) winning in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively.
The Engineers are idle until April 7 when they host Liberty League foe Hobart College at 1pm.
