TROY, N.Y. – Senior Amber Haslett recorded a goal and two assists to lead the ninth-ranked Montclair State University field hockey team to a 4-2 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), on Sunday afternoon at Harkness Field. With the win, the Red Hawks improve to 7-0, while the Engineers drop to 0-6.
Haslett (Butler, NJ/Butler) set up sophomore Kaitlyn Prestinari (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) for the game's first goal at the 17:16 mark. She sent a ball from right to left across the face of goal for Prestinari, who tapped home her second of the year.
RPI nearly equalized six minutes later, when they had several cracks the ball deep in Montclair State territory, but junior goalie Nicole Andriani (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) was able to keep them out.
The Red Hawks went the other way quickly and made it it 2-0 a minute later, as sophomore Elizabeth Cimilluca (Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) stuck home a rebound after a shot from Haslett was stopped by RPI senior goalie

Freshman
Kaitlyn Stulen (Houston, TX/Memorial) brought the hosts to within 2-1 late in the first half, battling for a loose ball at the top of the circle and rifling home her first collegiate tally at 33:44.
Montclair took its 2-1 lead to the half, along with a narrow 11-10 edge in shots.
The visitors pushed their lead to 3-1 at 47:31, when Prestinari redirected home a shot from the top of the circle by Haslett. Junior Kelly Watson (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) sent a short penalty corner from the right side to Haslett, who ripped it to the left side of the net for Prestinari to finish.
Five minutes later, Haslett shot her way into the scoring column, giving the Red Hawks a 4-1 advantage. A short corner to Cimilluca was sent to the middle of the field for Haslett, who fired home her fourth goal of the year at 52:57.
Rensselaer senior
Mikaela DiBello (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) potted her team-leading fourth goal at 58:04 to make it a 4-2 game. Sprinting onto the end of a long ball, she deked her way past Andriani and fired into an open net.
Montclair outshot the Engineers 16-1 in the second half for an overall 27-11 advantage. Andriani (7-0) finished with three saves, while Kaufman (0-5) had a season-high 14 stops.
The Engineers are back in action on Saturday, when they open Liberty League play against Vassar at Harkness Field (2pm). Montclair visits Vassar on Wednesday (7pm).
