Engineers home for midweek, non-league clash with Hawks

MIDWEEK MATCHUP
The Engineers break up a stretch of 4 out of 5 road games with a non-league match against Hartwick on Wednesday night at East Campus Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:15pm.

SERIES HISTORY
The Hawks own a narrow 13-11-2 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to September 11, 1991 – a 3-0 Hartwick win in Troy. The two teams have met in every year since, excluding last season. The last six games have been split 3-3, with the Engineers going 5-8-1 at home all-time.

LAST TIME VS. HARTWICK
The Engineers came away with a 1-0 victory in Oneonta on September 21, 2016, thanks to a 22nd minute goal from Cori Winslow. RPI outshot the hosts 18-2, including 7-0 on goal, as Joey Lyons earned the shutout without making a save.

ENGINEERS WIN LEAGUE OPENER
Rensselaer got its Liberty League season underway with a 2-1 victory at Bard on Saturday afternoon. Junior Emily Kaplan and freshman Whitney Wisnom provided the offense, while Joey Lyons made one save. Each team converted a penalty kick in the contest, with Wisnom's providing the difference in the 50th minute.

RPI LEADERS
Junior Jacqui Richard has a team-high two goals for four points. Freshman Whitney Wisnom (1 goal, 1 assist) has three points, while three others have scored goals, including junior Emily Kaplan, who leads the team in shots on goal with 14.

GOALKEEPING
Sophomore Joey Lyons (3-4-0) has a 1.26 goals against average and a .710 save percentage have played every minute between the sticks for the Engineers.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Hartwick (5-2-1) is paced offensively by Gabrielle Kreppein (3 goals, 2 assists) with eight points. Tanner Reed (3 goals, 1 assist) has seven points, while Alexa DuBois (2 goals, 2 assists) has six. In goal, Cassandra Robataille (5-2-1) has a 0.71 goals against average and a .786 save percentage, while starting all eight games.
