RPI welcomes SUNY Geneseo to East Campus Stadium for its home opener on Saturday, with kick-off slated for 4pm.

Rensselaer won the only previous meeting in the series, 1-0, on November 12, 2005 in Geneseo.Â
ENGINEERS DEFEATED AT NAZARETH
Despite outshooting the Golden Flyers, 19-7, and earning the most corners by the program since 2013 (16), Rensselaer fell at Nazareth College, 2-0. Freshman Zein Mohamed had a goal and an assist for the hosts, while seven Engineers posted multiple shot attempts, including a team-high three from
Matt Menendez off the bench.

Sophomore
Trevor Bisson led RPI with 12 points last season on six goals, while junior
Austin Betterly collected four goals and three assists for 11 points. Senior
Dylan Confair rounded out the top three with three goals and four assists for 10 points.
GOALKEEPING
Junior
Matt LaBranche posted a 7-6-2 record last season with a .795 save percentage and two shutouts.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
Geneseo freshman Ari Samoohy has the club's lone goal through two games this season, while Austin DeRidder has the only assist. Junior Dillon Medd (0-1-1) has a 1.35 goals against average and a .769 save percentage in two matches between the sticks.
LAST TIME OUT FOR GENESEO
The Knights drew at Penn State-Behrend, 0-0, on September 1. Shots were even in the match at 11-all, with Geneseo earning one more corner than the Lions, 6-5. Noah Van Zandt registered a team-high three shot attempts, while Dillon Medd made seven saves.
RENSSELAER IN 2017
The Engineers opened the season with three straight victories, reaching the end of September with a 6-2-1 overall record including an unbeaten mark (1-0-1) in Liberty League play. RPI was able to only pick two wins over the final eight matches, however, missing out on the Liberty League Tournament for the first time since 2015 – when the team qualified for the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid.
