Engineers duel No. 6 Clarkson and St. Lawrence at the Houston Field House

THE HOME STRETCH
Rensselaer has only conference games remaining on its 2018-19 schedule, beginning with North Country-rivals No. 6 Clarkson and St. Lawrence, this weekend at the Houston Field House. Puck drop is scheduled for 6pm on Friday night against the Golden Knights and 3pm on Saturday against the Saints.

RPI HOLDS ON VS. SYRACUSE
Junior Blake Orosz scored the only goal with one second left in regulation to lift the Engineers to a 1-0 win over Quinnipiac on December 8 at the Houston Field House. Senior captain Lovisa Selander made 41 saves, including 15 in the third period alone.

ALL-TIME VS. THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Clarkson owns a 24-5-2 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to November 11, 2003, when the Golden Knights and Engineers skated to a 2-2 tie at the Houston Field House. 

RECENTLY
The Golden Knights have won 20 of the last 21 meetings, including eight straight, dating back to February of 2016. RPI's last victory came on November 7, 2015 – a 2-1 win at the Houston Field House.

TOUGH AT HOME
RPI has a 5-2-3 record at the Houston Field House after starting the season unbeaten in five straight (3-0-2). The streak was the longest in school history to start a campaign.

Juniors Blake Orosz (6 goals, 7 assists) and Sabrina Repaci (4 goals, 9 assists) are tied for the team lead with 13 points. Seniors Jaimie Grigsby (3 goals, 4 assists) and Josefine Hansen (3 goals, 4 assists) have seven points apiece.

IN NET
Senior captain Lovisa Selander is 5-8-4 with a 1.88 goals against average and a .946 save percentage as the starter in 17 games. Classmate Kira Bombay is 2-1-0 with a 1.60 goals against average and a .951 save percentage in five games (3 starts).

PACING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Clarkson is led by sophomore Elizabeth Giguere, who enters the weekend with 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 20 games. Senior Lauren Gabel (16 goals, 18 assists) is right behind her with 34 points, while junior Michaela Pejzlova (12 goals, 17 assists) rounds out the top three scorers with 29 points.

CLARKSON IN GOAL
Senior Kassidy Sauve is 12-4-1 with a 1.94 goals against average and a .926 save percentage as the starter in 17 of Clarkson's 20 games.

RECORD CHASING
Senior goaltender Lovisa Selander's 3,441 career saves ranks first in school history and seventh in NCAA history, just 27 behind Elaine Chuli (2013-16) of UConn. She is 368 away from the all-time mark.
