GAMEDAY (Jan. 4, 2019): The Engineers begin the 2019 portion of their schedule with a Liberty League contest against Skidmore ... RPI enters with a 6-3 overall record and a 1-1 conference mark, while the Thoroughbreds are 2-8 and 1-2.
LONG BREAKS: The game is the first since December 6 for Rensselaer and the first since December 12 for Skidmore.
LAST TIME OUT: RPI suffered a 69-54 loss at Western New England University in its most recent contest, while the Thoroughbreds were defeated by Vassar 70-48 in mid-December.

DECEMBER 12: Vassar used a quick start, scoring the first 14 points of the game, and the Brewers defeated Skidmore 70-48 in Saratoga Springs ... Thoroughbreds sophomore Sydney Tsutsui led all scorers with 19 points, while Haley English had eight points, seven rebounds and four assists ... Jessica Centore contributed six points and 10 rebounds ... Sophie Nick had a double-double for Vassar with 16 points and 11 rebounds, as well as a pair of blocks ... Isa Peczuh added 14 points and Jackie Cenan scored 11 points.
SKIDMORE TO DATE: The Thoroughbreds went 0-3 to begin the season before defeating Salem State in Williamstown, Mass. ... They then went 1-2 on a three-game road trip, including a split in the North Country ... Skidmore has dropped its last three games.
COMMON OPPONENTS: The Engineers and Thoroughbreds have both played Sage, St. Lawrence and Clarkson ... RPI defeated Sage and St. Lawrence, but lost at Clarkson ... The Thoroughbreds beat the Golden Knights but fell to the Saints and Gators.
