Swimming & Diving's Home Debuts are Saturday

MEET TIME (OCTOBER 26, 2019): The Engineers are in action for the first time at Robison Pool with a dual meet against the Bombers of Ithaca.

LAST 10 VS. ITHACA: Rensselaer's women are 3-7 in the last 10 dual meets with the Bombers, including wins in each of the last two years ... The Engineers have won the last two meets held at Robison Pool.

LAST SEASON: Kat Lopez won three individual events and two of her teammates had a pair of wins to help RPI's women edge Ithaca 153-147 in Central New York ... Lopez was first to touch the wall in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, winning by one second, three seconds and two seconds, respectively ... A teammate finished in second place in each event to propel Rensselaer to its six-point victory ... Amanda Wang won in both the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke ... Kaitlyn Joyce won the 50 free and 100 free, while also competing on the first place 200 medley relay team, along with Wang and two others.

LAST 10 VS. ITHACA: Rensselaer's men are 5-5 in the last 10 dual meets with the Bombers, including wins in each of the last four years ... The Engineers have won the last three meets held at Robison Pool.

LAST SEASON: RPI's men's 200 medley team, which featured Noah Pan, Charly Blazy, Graham Zola and John Alberta, finished more than two seconds in front of the second place team and the Engineers defeated the Bombers 204-96 ... Pan went on to win in the 100 and 200 backstroke, while Zola captured the 200 free ... Alberta won the 100 free and was the lead in the victorious 400 free relay ... Trevor Maxfield, who won the 1000 free and 500 free, Pan and Zola also contributed to the final relay victory ... Steven Yu and Alex Aung also had multiple individual victories, winning the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual and 200 and 100 fly, respectively.

ROSTER MAKEUP: Rensselaer's men's team features five seniors, two juniors, eight sophomores and 11 freshmen, along with Trevor Maxfield, who is a graduate student.

CAPTAINS: The Engineers men are being captained by Trevor Maxfield, Nicos Prokopiou and Graham Zola ... Maxfield and Prokopiou are first-year captains ... Zola was a captain last season.

ROSTER MAKEUP: RPI's women has a roster of three seniors, eight juniors, six sophomores and seven freshmen.

CAPTAINS: Seniors Kristen Cregin, Jessica Kugelman and Emily Mayoras as well as junior Kaitlin Joyce are the captains for the 2019-20 season ... This is the second year in that capacity for Kugelman and the first for the others.

AT RIT TWO WEEKS AGO: The Rensselaer men registered nine individual victories and two relay wins on its way to defeating RIT 183-117 in the first meet of the season for both teams ... The homestanding Tigers defeated the Engineers' women's team 162-138 ... Senior Graham Zola and sophomore Alex Aung both had two wins for RPI, while Zola also swam on a pair of first place relays ... He won the 50 free and 100 free and helped the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay to firsts ... Four Rensselaer women earned its eight victories with each capturing two events.

HONORED: RPI's Megan Beaulieu, a sophomore, and Jessica Kugelman, a senior, were named Liberty League Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, while senior Graham Zola was the Men's Swimmer of the Week and freshman Tony Min captured Rookie of the Week following their efforts at RIT.

ITHACA ALUM: Rensselaer swimming coach Shannon O'Brien swam for the Bombers.
