SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Sophomore Fiona Zimmerman scored her first collegiate goal in overtime to lift the Union College women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), on Saturday afternoon at College Park Field. With the win, the Dutchwomen improve to 5-4-0 overall (1-2-0 Liberty League), while th Engineers drop to 4-4-2 overall (1-2-0 Liberty League).
Zimmerman broke a scoreless tie in the 93rd minute, getting on the end of a ball at the back post from Linsey Giles. The tally came on Union's first shot of the extra session.
Union won the shots battle, 12-6, in the contest, with shots on goal even at 5-5. RPI finished with a narrow 3-2 edge corner kicks.

Joey Lyons finished with four saves for the Engineers, while Allison Sorkenn turned away all five shots she faced for the shutout.
Rensselaer is back in action next Saturday, when they host Skidmore College (2pm). Union travels to Babson on Saturday (3:30pm).
