Sam Krumbhaar scored 17 points with eight rebounds and fellow senior
Celia Tomlinson scored 16 points with 14 rebounds to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) to an 87-60 win over the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday.
RPI scored 23 points in each of the first two quarters to build a 46-29 lead at halftime. Tomlinson had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds in the first half, while Krumbhaar added a dozen points with six rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Engineers made 44.7% of its shots (17 of 38) and held the Eagles to 35.1% (13 of 37).

Courtney Lewis layup four minutes into the second half gave Rensselaer a 19-point lead (52-33) and Krumbhaar later made it a 20-point advantage (55-35) with a three-pointer at the 5:32 mark. The margin grew to as many as 26 points on a pair of
Brielle Sharry free throws with just over a minute to play in the third quarter.
The Engineers outscored Saint Elizabeth 19-14 in the fourth quarter.
Krumbhaar, who played 31 minutes, finished with five assists and three steals and Tomlinson added two assists, three blocks and two steals. Lewis had 12 points with four rebounds and Lydsey Stone scored eight points with nine rebounds.
Kamille Jacobs scored a game-high 21 points with seven rebounds for the Eagles, who are now 1-2.
RPI improves to 2-1 and is back in action on Saturday at Wheaton College (1pm).
