TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team returns to Tri-City Fitness on Saturday when the No. 33 Engineers host RIT in a Liberty League contest. The match is tentatively scheduled for 1pm but the time may be altered based on the women's match with RIT.
Rensselaer is 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while the Tigers are 4-5 and 0-4.
RPI won last season's match 9-0. Following Rensselaer's doubles victories,
Andrew Imrie and Ben Lynaugh waged a tremendous match at No. 2 singles. Lynaugh won the first set, 6-3, before Imrie won set two, 6-2. The third set went to a tiebreaker with Imrie emerging victorious, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (10-6). The No. 3 singles match was also tight with Rensselaer's Zack Ebenfield prevailing, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, over Spencer Lowitt.
