BLUFFTON, SC - Senior goaltender
Aleena Milinski made 14 saves and nine different players scored, as the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team defeated Muhlenberg College, on Monday morning at Bluffton Center. With the win, the Engineers improve to 2-0, while the Mules drop to 1-1.
Gabriella Crivelli and Taliah Carson got the Mules off to a hot start, scoring two goals in the opening four minutes, including Carson's first of the year.
The Engineers then went on a five-goal run, eight minutes into the half. Senior
Erin Goodwin got RPI on the board, before
Lauren Guiry potted her fourth goal of the year two minutes later to tie the game at 2-2.

Liz Brady's first goal of the season gave Rensselaer its first lead and one it did not relinquish, with 10 minutes left in the opening half. Senior
Michelle Bolger and freshman
Sabrina Torcellini polished off the scoring run, giving the Engineers a 5-2 lead with just 4:42 left in the stanza. The tally for Torcellini was the first of her collegiate career.
The two teams traded goals in the late stages of the half, giving RPI a 6-3 lead at the break.
Muhlenberg's Amanda Tullo got the second half underway witha goal to make it 6-4, but the Engineers answered on the ensuing possession as sophomore
Bri Zipprich put home her second of the year.
Emma Carmody and Tullo cut the deficit to 7-6 with just under 20 minutes left in the game. Guiry and Carson traded goals a minute later, before three straight tallies from the Engineers opened up an 11-7 advantage with 11:26 remaining.
After the Mules netted two goals just 24 seconds apart to cut the deficit back to two (11-9), RPI senior
Abbey Salvon and sophomore Noran Molino put the game away with tallies of their own for a 13-9 advantage with 2:37 to go.
Crivelli and Carson capped the scoring within the final two minutes, as the Engineers were able to hold on for the win.
Milinski (2-0) had seven saves in each half, while Muhlenberg netminder Jordan Segrave finished with 16 stops at the other end of the field.
RPI is back in action on Wednesday, when it takes on Bridgeport College in Bluffton (12:30pm). The Mules battle Hood on Wednesday (10am).
