SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Sophomore
Nora Molino scored five goals to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team to a 15-11 victory over Union College, on Wednesday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field. With the win, the Engineers improve to 6-3 overall (3-3 Liberty League), while the Dutchwomen drop to 4-5 (1-4 Liberty League).
The hosts jumped out to a 5-1 lead early, with senior
Maddy Aslansan scoring the lone RPI tally in the first 10 minutes of the contest. Lindsay Gerrato netted the first and last goals for the Dutchwomen during the game-opening run.

Sabrina Torcellini (man-up), cut the deficit to 5-3, with 12:30 left in the first half. Junior
Liz Brady collected the first of her four assists on Torcellini's sixth marker of the year.
Gerrato netted her third goal of the game to make it 6-3 with 9:12 on the clock in the first, but Molino potted two in a row to draw within 6-5, with 5:15 remaining in the half. Brady assisted on both of those tallies.
After Isabel Bush scored to push the Union advantage back to two, Molino finished off the first half with two more goals to knot the score at 7-7.
The Engineers opened the second half with a 5-1 a run of their own to take their first lead of the game at 12-8. Five different players found the back of the net during the spell, including Aslansan and classmate
Michelle Bolger, who scored her 18th goal of the season.
Union didn't score its second goal of the half until the midway point, when Gerrato put home her 26th tally of the year. Aslansan answered with man-up goal to make it 13-9 with 10 minutes to play.
A 2-0 Dutchwomen run was answered by one from the Engineers, as Bolger and Aslansan capped the scoring in the game.
Aleena Milinski (6-3) made 10 saves, while Ellie Taney (4-5) had 14 stops at the other end of the field.Â
The Engineers return to action on Saturday, when they host Ithaca College at Renwyck Field (12pm). Union travels to the University of Rochester on Saturday (1pm).
