TROY, N.Y. - Senior Elizabeth Rice recorded a game-high seven points to lead the 19th-ranked Ithaca College women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), on Saturday afternoon at Renwyck Field. With the win, the Bombers improve to 9-4 overall (6-1 Liberty League), while the Engineers drop to 6-4 (3-4 Liberty League).
The visitors scored the game's first three goals, all in a span of 1:27 seconds second. Indira Varma, Caroline Grant and Allie Panara all tallied, befor the Engineers were able to stop the run almost 10 minutes in.

Abbey Salvon made it 3-2 with 16:55 left in the first half. Junior
Liz Brady picked up the first of her three assists on the day on the Salvon's first goal of the day.
Ithaca answered by closing out the opening half on a 7-0 run, which included three goals from Rice, who had four in the contest. Sophomore Danika Wagener gave the Bombers a 10-2 just before the break, with her 23rd goal of the season.
After sophomore Jacqui Hallack pushed the Ithaca lead to 11-2, less than a minute into the second half, Salvon potted her second goal to end the Ithaca run at eight. Brady once again picked up the helper on the play. Wagener answered 30 seconds later to make it 12-3.
A 5-2 Engineers spurt, including two more from Salvon cut the deficit to 14-8 with 4:44 to play. Seniors
Michelle Bolger and
Maddy Aslansan also collected goals on the run, while classmate
Lauren Guiry netted her 17th goal of the season.
Varma and Reid Simoncini capped the scoring in the contest for the Bombers.
Sophomore Mackenzie Schade (9-4) finished with 10 saves for Ithaca, while her counterpart, senior
Aleena Milinski (6-4) had 16 stops at the other end of the field.
RPI is back in action next Friday, when it visits Vassar College (4pm), while the Bombers travel to Bard College on Friday (4pm).
