EWING, N.J. - Freshman Sanjana Surapeneni was victorious at No. 2 singles, but that was the only win for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team in a non-league match at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) as the No. 37 Lions won 8-1. TCNJ improves to 15-4, while the Engineers drop to 6-11.

Surapeneni won at No. 2 singles over Grace Minassian 6-3, 6-3 to put the Engineers on the board. They dropped each of the three doubles matches and the first singles match to completion (No. 1).

Two Rensselaer singles players went to three sets before falling with Junjia Lyu losing in a tiebreaker at No. 2 (6-7 (3), 6-1, 10-8) and Brenda Peng dropping the No. 4 singles match (3-6, 6-3, 6-1).
