GAMEDAY (Feb. 8, 2020): The Engineers (12-7; 8-4) begin a four-game homestand with a Liberty League contest against Vassar (13-6; 9-3) at East Campus Arena.

POSTPONEMENT: Rensselaer was scheduled to begin its homestand on Friday, but that game was moved to Sunday (12pm)due to inclement weather and hazardous travel conditions from Ithaca to Troy.

OTHERWISE PLAYED: All other Liberty League games for Friday night were expected to proceed as scheduled, including Vassar at Bard.

STANDINGS: Ithaca and St. Lawrence enter the weekend tied for first place while Vassar is one win behind ... RPI is two wins from first, including victories over both the Bombers and the Saints ... The top six teams in the final standings advance to the post-season.

REMATCH: Saturday's game is a rematch of a January 24 meeting between RPI and the Vassar, which the Brewers won 77-66, including 52 second half points to overcome a double digit halftime deficit.

LEADING SCORERS: In the first meeting between the Brewers and the Engineeers, Vassar's Isa Peczuh led the victors with 16 points, while Sophie Nick had a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds ... Jackie Cenan had 12 and seven with four assists ... Celia Tomlinson, Sam Krumbhaar and Ines Ortea combined for 60 of RPI's 66 points ... Tomlinson scored 24 points with 15 rebounds, Krumbhaar had 21 points and three steals and Ortea scored 15 points with eight rebounds. 

ALL-TIME AGAINST VASSAR: The Engineers are 31-19 against the Brewers, including 16-8 in Troy ... There have been 39 conference games with Rensselaer leading those league matchups 23-16.

FIRST MEETING: The Engineers and Brewers first met on January 24, 1986, a 54-44 Rensselaer victory.

FOUR STRAIGHT: RPI has dropped each of its last four games to Vassar ... Last season, the Engineers lost to the Brewers 67-43 on the road (Jan. 11, 2019) and 56-38 at home (Feb. 9).

LAST 10: RPI is now 2-8 in its last 10 games with Vassar with four of those games (1-3) in Troy.

RPI LAST WEEKEND: Rensselaer suffered a pair of Capital Region road losses, falling 62-57 at Skidmore on Friday and 58-45 at Union on Saturday.

HONORED: RPI senior Celia Tomlinson earned ECAC Division III North Player of the Month for January.

VASSAR OF LATE: The Brewers had a four-game winning streak snapped in its last outing, a 79-77 defeat at St. Lawrence ... Vassar had beaten Skidmore (74-56), Rensselaer (77-66), Bard (93-42) and Clarkson (77-55) prior to facing the Saints.
