"Kloman's internal desire to be a great runner is something his teammates and I all admire. Whether it was when he took it upon himself to run 95-mile weeks "secretly" as a freshman, or when he was waking up in the dark winter months at 5am to double in the ice, cold and snow as a junior while he was a full-time student and working an almost full-time job. For a year we had this spring earmarked as "his turn to be great." He had the 10k marked as his event and knew what he needed to do to make Nationals. I have no doubt all that work would have paid off. Perhaps the best part of the four years with Jake were the meetings we had and the roadblocks we fought through to get him to where he is.
