From the coaching staff:
"Blake was a pure goal scorer for us. Our most offensively gifted player, she also had a knack for scoring big goals. She scored three game-winning goals her junior year, all with under 30 seconds to go. Two of them were with only one second left. Her teammates could always count on Blake coming up big in big moments. Though most people would recognize Blake for her skill and talent, her teammates saw how hard she worked in the weight room and thrived off her fun-loving attitude around the rink. She brings energy to everything she does and people gravitate towards her because of it. Whenever the team was down, facing adversity or needed a jolt of enthusiasm, they turned to Blake. One of my greatest memories was seeing Blake's hometown come to our game at Clarkson to support her during a very difficult time last season. The building erupted with cheers when she was announced in our starting lineup. Seeing her family holding huge posters with Blake's face on them from across the bench spoke to the love Blake has from her community and the positive impact she makes on others. Blake was a special player at RPI, but more importantly, she was a special person." - March 2020
What others say:
"Blake is one of the strongest and most resilient people I know. She is kind and easy to talk to and never fails to make me laugh. She was very welcoming when I first came in as a freshman and continued to be a person I could always lean on. I will never forget her last second game-winning goals or having to watch her re-watch those goals for the rest of the week. You will be missed both on and off the ice!" - April 2020
"Blake was already such a strong and loving person before this season, but through the adversity during this year, she has really shown the caliber of her powerful character. She has so much love for the game, and it shows every time she steps onto the ice. I'm excited to see what the future holds for her!" - April 2020
"Blake always set the tone in practice, games and in the weight room. She pushed her teammates to be better everyday and has never failed to make her teammates laugh. Her ability to face adversity and overcome it - whatever that is in her life - is truly inspiring. I am grateful I was able to get to know Blake and be her teammate." - April 2020
"
Blake Orosz is a great person and a great teammate. She acts with heart and passion on and off the ice. She is extremely competitive on the ice and a compete clown in the locker room. You can always look to her to make you laugh after a tough day, or to get you pumped up before a game." - April 2020
"
Blake Orosz, she made this major change in my life so easy. I could constantly look up to her and she had such a big impact on my first year of college hockey. I am proud to call her my teammate and I will miss her." - April 2020
"Blake was my summer buddy, and I couldn't have asked for a more heartfelt and warm welcome. She could make everybody laugh, and her emotional commitment to the game encouraged all of us to be our best selves. Blake's passion was relentless and I will always look up to her." - April 2020
