At Rensselaer, we are proud to recognize the student-athletes who are members of the Class of 2020. We thank them for their hard work, dedication and tremendous efforts in representing the Institute in a first-class manner academically and athletically. We wish them well as they continue to complete the semester and become Rensselaer alumni / alumnae.

While at Rensselaer:
Two wins, three runner-ups and 14 third place finishes in career ... Four top 8 finishes in 10 finals appearances at Liberty League Championship meets ... Team's Most Improved Award once ... Computer and Systems Engineering major.

Favorite sports memory during career?
"Being presented the Most Improved Award last year at the senior banquet."  - April 2020

What makes Rensselaer so special?
"The serious but not overbearing competitive spirit of the swim team. The other team members will help you with your stroke or with your homework if you ask and that is invaluable." - April 2020

From the coaching staff:
"Joe was one of the most optimistic members of the team. He helped motivate his teammates and coaches by always looking on the bright side of things." - March 2020

What others say:
"Joe can always be quoted for inspirational speeches and always gives 100% in each of his races." - March 2020

"One of the funnier members of the team, Joe was made famous by his line, "I wanted to go a best time, so I went a best time." While this may be a common occurrence at an end of the year meet when rested, Joe achieved this in the middle of the season, proving to everyone on the team that your mindset comes above all else when determining success." - April 2020

"Joe is one of the kindest and sweetest people on the team. He works hard on everything he puts his mind to, in and out of the pool. One thing Joe has been known to do before an event is say confidently he is going to drop a certain time and then proceeds to do it. He is one of a kind and he is going to be greatly missed." - April 2020
