Favorite sports memory during career?
"My favorite memory is the atmosphere in the locker room before games. The energy from everyone "playing soccer" is contagious, and it's impossible to not get hyped up by the sound machine right before we walk out." - April 2020
What makes Rensselaer so special?
"Rensselaer is the perfect combination of rigorous academics and an amazing athletic program. At Rensselaer, you are surrounded by people who are constantly working hard to achieve their goals in the classroom, on the field and in life. While everyone is working hard themselves, they are also willing to help others, and it creates a great support system." - April 2020
What are your post-graduation plans?
"I will be pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University." - April 2020
From the coaching staff:
"Zimmer made it her mission in her senior year to peak as an athlete. She started out this spring with a bang in her field-presence and scoring frequency. She was on track to earn her place on scouting reports. Zimmer is deceptively strong, a fantastic driver and a sharp shooter. Her academic excellence will follow her to Duke University to pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. Undoubtedly, her work will make a difference in the world." - April 2020
What others say:
"Zimmer's determination is clear; whenever she plays, she never gives up and fights for what she wants. She served as a leader on offense this year and pushed herself and others around her at every practice. I wish I could have seen what she could have done this season because I'm sure it would have been extraordinary." - March 2020
"Nicole is one of the hardest workers this team has ever seen. She gets it done on the field, in the weight room and in the classroom. Her work ethic is unmatched." - March 2020
"Nicole is a very good all-around player. No matter where she is on the field, you can count on her to make the play. This season, I always wanted her on my team during drills because she always gave 100%. Nicole is very thoughtful and honest. She will give you her honest opinion and I greatly value her honesty. She is very caring and will take the time and effort to talk to you." - March 2020
"She's a powerful player with a strong shot. This season would have been a huge time for her as she had already gained an immense amount of confidence and skills in our very short season." - March 2020
"Nicole is someone who is very valued on our team for her commitment. When she does something, whether it be lacrosse or schoolwork, she always puts 100% effort into it." - April 2020
"Works very hard, a very consistent player. I could always count on her free-position shots to go in." - April 2020
"Nicole is an absolute force on the lacrosse field, which is obvious from the start, but then you get to know her off the field and she's hilarious and so fun to be around all the time." - April 2020
"Nicole really gave it her all every day. She is extremely intelligent, hard working, and I have no doubt she will succeed in life." - April 2020
