SARATOGA SPRING, N.Y. - Matt Lecky finished first overall and three of his teammates finished in the top 10 to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's cross country team to first place in the Liberty League Championship, which was held at Saratoga Spa State Park. The victory is the fifth in a row for the Engineers, who had 36 points to edge second place Vassar by two (38).

Ithaca was third with 82 points. St. Lawrence (96), RIT (131), Clarkson (177), Union (200), Hobart (259) and Bard (292) rounded out the field.

Lecky, a junior, finished the 8k course in 25:39.5, which was 13 seconds in front of Vassar's Miles Takiguchi (25:52.8). Lecky ran a 5:10 pace to a 5:13 pace by the next three finishers. Ithaca's Ben Tiber 25:53.4) was third and the Brewers' Jack Casalino (25:53.5) was fourth.

Rensselaer's Vince Simonetti was fifth with a time of 25:57.0, followed by Vassar's Reed Dolan (25:59.9) and RPI teammate Cory Kennedy (26:00.2). John Reed's 10th place finish (26:09.5) was two spots in front of Vassar's Jonathan Dean (26:15.0) and three in front of teammate Owen Szabo (26:16.6), who was the final scoring runner for the Engineers. Aidan Mayer of Vassar was 14th with a time of 26:18.0 to conclude the scoring for the Brewers.

The top 21 finishers earn All-Liberty League honors, which includes a first team, second team and honorable mention. The All-Liberty League First Team recognizes those that placed first through seventh while the All-Liberty League Second Team honors those that placed eighth through 14th. The honorable mention is for 15th through 21st place.
