TROY, N.Y. - Junior Keaton McCann had six goals and an assist and classmate Kieran McGovern tallied four times with an assist to lead the No. 14 Union College men's lacrosse team to a 15-8 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in a Liberty League contest at East Campus Stadium. The Dutchmen improve to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference, while the Engineers are 1-1 and 1-1.
McCann and McGovern got the scoring started when they connected for a man-up goal just 2:17 into the game, but the Engineers answered on an unassisted marker by 
Tim Oslislo. Brian Davis put the visitors back on top but Oslislo notched again and the game was tied 2-2 after the first quarter.

Will Hatcher for a back-to-the-goal, between the legs tally just 13 seconds into the second quarter, but Union followed with a 5-0 run to take a 7-3 lead with 6:18 left in the first half. McGovern (3 goals), Davis (1) and McCann (1) had the goals with McCann assisting on one of them and Aidan Flood on two others.
Jason Bram a senior for the Engineers who finished with three goals and an assist, stopped the streak, but Flood got his first of the night for an 8-4 lead. 
Owen Putman made it 8-5 and that is how the half ended. 
Union came out of the break by scoring all five goals of the third quarter to make it 13-5 with McCann notching three times, including a man-up goal with nine seconds left, and McGovern once.
Bram potted two goals in the fourth quarter and Putman one for the Engineers, who were outshot 42-33 in the contest. Both teams had 18 ground balls and the Dutchmen won 15 of 28 faceoffs.
McCann finished with 11 shots (6 on goal) and a ground ball, while McGovern had four shots and a caused turnover. Flood tallied a goal, four assists and a ground ball, while Davis scored twice with an assist. Dan Donahue made seven saves in the goal.

Brian Doughty stopped eight shots for Rensselaer, which got multiple points from Bram, Putman (2 goals) and Oslislo (2 goals).
The Engineers are back in action on Saturday when they play at No. 13 St. Lawrence University. Union hosts No. 1 RIT on Saturday in Schenectady.
