TROY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey has announced its weekly award winners from women's hockey and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete
Amanda Rampado has been named MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week.
A junior from Stoney Creek, Ont., Rampado went stopped 63 of the 67 shots she faced last week as the Engineers dropped a pair of tightly contested games at Mercyhurst. In the season opener on Friday, she made 36 saves in a 2-1 overtime defeat, before turning away 27 the following afternoon in a 2-0 loss.
For the season, Rampado is 0-2-0 with a 2.01 goals against average and a .940 save percentage, allowing one power play goal among the four she has surrendered on the year.
In 2019-20, Rampado appeared in 13 games for the Engineers, including 11 as a starter, going 0-11-0, with a 3.44 goals against average and a .912 save percentage. The former Stoney Creek Sabres standout went 0-7-0 in ECAC Hockey play, with a 3.44 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
Rampado was a two-year captain for the Stoney Creek Sabres, helping the team a 2019 silver medal and a Provincial bronze. She was also a captain for the hockey team at Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary, where she was a two-time team MVP, winning four conference championships.
The Engineers (0-2-0) are back in action this weekend, when they travel to Burlington, Vt., to face the University of Vermont for a two-game series. Puck drop on Friday night is scheduled for 6pm.
