Women's Basketball Drops League Contest

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's basketball team shot 58% from the field in the first half to build 47-21 lead at the half and the Bombers went on to defeat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) 72-40 in a Liberty League contest at Ben Light Gymnasium. Ithaca improves to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Engineers drop to 2-7 and 1-3.

The Bombers made 11 of 21 shots (52.3%) in the first quarter, while holding RPI to just 16.6% (3 of 18) from the field to take a 24-9 lead after the first 10 minutes. While Rensselaer increased its percentage to 36.6 in the second quarter (4 of 11), the home team connected on 66.6% of its attempts (10 of 15) on its way to a 47-21 lead at the break. The Bombers went on to outscore the Engineers by six points in the second half for the final margin.

Sophomore Ahnalese Pearson had eight points and Nicole DaPra scored seven to lead RPI. Ithaca was led by Grace Cannon's 15 points and nine rebounds, while Camryn Coffey scored a dozen.
