Kaiser’s 4-Point Effort Leads Women’s Hockey

TROY, N.Y. - Ellie Kaiser recorded one goal and three assists in to lead Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) to a 9-0 victory over Post University in a non-league game on Saturday afternoon at the Houston Field House.

RPI's (3-10-1) Amanda Rampado (5 saves in 39:25) and Jaden Mirek (3 saves in 20:00) combined for the team's third shutout of the year.

Asiah Taylor-Walters opened the scoring for Rensselaer in the first three minutes with her first goal of the season. Four minutes later, Audrey McCutcheon added a second for the Cherry and White's fourth power play goal of the year.

The second period was fruitful for the Engineers with Taylor Larsen opening the scoring with eight seconds left on the power play to put RPI up 3-0. Rensselaer added goals from Nyah Philip and Maddy Peterson to take a 5-0 lead over the Eagles (1-10-0).

Hannah Price scored two of her own to put RPI up 7-0 before Kaiser notched her third goal of the season to extend Rensselaer's lead to 8-0.

Captain Marah Wagner scored the lone goal of the third period to bring the final to 9-0.

Freshman Nina Christof recorded three points on three assists with Price, Philip, Wagner, Julia Blitz, and Maddy Papineau all recorded two points apiece. Rounding out the individual points were Meagan Byrum and Teeghan Dalby with one assist each.

RPI was dominant in the faceoff circle with Wagner leading the way with an 84.6% faceoff win percentage.

Price and Larsen proved to be the most efficient overall players when on the ice, recording a +6 and +4 plus-minus, respectively.

On the defensive end, Price, Kaise, Dalby, and Magdalena Erbenova each recorded one block.

Hannah Saunders (14 saves in 26:21) and Grace Glasrud (20 in 33:39) played in goal for Post.

Rensselaer returns to action after the Thanksgiving holiday with a non-conference series at Stonehill College. The game on November 25 is set to begin at 5pm with the puck dropping at 1pm the next day.
