TROY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey has announced the finalists for Player of the Year and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete
Ture Linden is one of three players vying to the honor. He is joined by Yaniv Perets of Quinnipiac University and Zach Tzekos from Clarkson University. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, March 16.
A senior captain from Great Falls, Va., Linden leads the Engineers with 35 points on 18 goals and 17 assists. Playing all 41 games so far this season, he is a team-best +7, with 103 shots, four power play goals, two game-winners and 26 blocks at the defensive end of the ice.
In 22 ECAC Hockey games, Linden had 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points. A +7 rating in conference play, he had 53 shots, with two power play goals and one game-winning tally. The Hobey Baker Award nominee helped the Engineers limit league opposition to 2.59 goals per game with three shutouts.
The first RPI player to record 30 or more points in a season since Riley Bourbonnais '17 during the 2016-17 campaign, Linden's 35 are the most since Ryan Haggerty registered 43 during the 2013-14 season. This year, the former Lone Star Brahmas standout has eight multi-point outings and posted a 12-game point streak from October 15 to November 26.
In 34 games in 2019-20, Linden produced six goals and 15 assists for 21 points. During his freshman campaign, he had three goals and five assists for eight points in 36 contests.
