TROY, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Isabel Reitano-Stayer posted two goals and added an assist as the Knights shutout host Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) 3-0 on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Geneseo opened the scoring early in the first quarter when junior forward Katrina Clare put a shot off goalie Jen Richardson's pads and Reitano-Stayer slapped the rebound into the cage.
• Just over two minutes later, Reitano-Stayer scored again, converting off of an incisive pass from graduate defender Katherine Kreiss to make it 2-0 just 5:29 into the game.
• Richardson had 11 saves in the first half with six in the first quarter and five in the second.
• In the third quarter, Genese first-year midfielder Hailey Roethel beat a defender down the left flank and into the circle. Roethel fired a shot near post and snuck it into the cage to make it 3-0.
• Junior goalkeeper Lily Spitz made four saves in the second half as RPI pressed the tempo to try and get on the scoreboard.
