Women's Hockey Suffers Loss at St. Cloud State

Box Score ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Senior Taylor Lind had two goals and two assists and junior Jojo Chobak stopped all 17 shots she faced as the St. Cloud State University women's hockey team defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) 5-0 in the season opener for both squads. 

The Huskies scored 5:12 into the contest when Jenniina Nylund finished a feed from Lind, her linemate. Courtney Hall also had an assist on the play.

Two goals 10 minutes apart in the second period made it 3-0 before Lind scored her second at 7:12 of the third to increase the margin. An Emma Gentry power play goal about two minutes later concluded the scoring.

The Huskies had 31 shots with the Engineers registering 17, including 11 in the second period. Chobak turned them all aside in her St. Cloud debut. 

Senior Amanda Rampado made 26 saves for the Engineers, who had three power play opportunities.

The two-game series concludes on Saturday at 4pm (Eastern).
